New Year- New Intentions

Happy New Year!

The dawning of a new year can be a time of renewal and dreaming, a time to clear the slate from the year before and begin again.  It can also be a time of challenge, stuckness, or a continual efforting to face a life that we are not thriving in.

There is a lot of collective pressure to be celebratory and cheerful at this time of year (general holiday period) and for many that is simply not how they feel.  So wherever you’ve landed on this spectrum of “Yay it’s a New Year” to “who bloody cares” know that all is welcome here.  You are welcome here.

This month’s blog is an invitation to slow down, be with who you are today, and take your time to distill your intentions, as you head into a new year.  We often rush in our culture, I’m sure you’ve noticed!  Rush towards a red light, new shoes, success (in whatever form you believe that to be) French bakeries, good coffee, the latest and greatest anything, and yep we also rush towards New Years’ start again plans!

No doubt it’s good to take time off booze, sugar, bread, sitting too much, and anything else we deem “unhealthy” that we love to do (or habitually do).  And while it’s almost totally impossible to not be influenced by what our peers and our culture are doing, maybe it’s possible this year for you to begin again in a “new way.”

Maybe this year is the year to begin to know yourself at a deeper level, to travel down to the layers of why we do what we do? To be in relationship with the you who wants to be healthier, happier, successful, worthy— and commune with that you.  Return to this depth again and again and see what can be known here.

We all have different pathways for coming to know our truths.  Whether it’s moving our bodies, finding stillness, journaling, working with a coach or therapist, breath work, shamanic drumming or something else, my encouragement is to focus on 1 or 2 pathways this year and really see what you find to be a consistent and strong method for awakening your own wise self.

Let the fire of self-awareness and compassion for the life you live be the spark to direct your 2024 goals and intentions.  And if you still have a taste for a gym membership and a cleanse, because it aligns with what you found within—DO IT!

If you’d like to be guided on this path, I would be honored to work with you and here is where you will find me this Winter:

    • Wednesday Evenings: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) an 8-Week Mindfulness Course begins February 7th downtown Wenatchee.  Hybrid Class—also available online!

    • Monday mornings: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for those living with cancer, cancer survivors, or for those caregiving, begins January 29th.  Register via the Wellness Place (509)  or RSVP here.

    • Mindfulness based Life Coaching in a private 1:1 environment is available as well.  Now offering appointments in-person and online.  See rates online & schedule a Meet & Greet Call.

Often our collective human challenge in life is to meet our growing edge—the place where acceptance of who we are meets what hurts, doesn’t work anymore and challenges us.  You are not alone, we are all here together.

Blessings of strength and compassion,

Kari
